The World Is Already Complete

When we look at the world, it is easy to focus on everything that seems broken.

We see inequality, conflict, corruption, discrimination, poverty, and war. We naturally want to fix these problems, and in many cases we should.

For many years, I felt the same way.

Growing up in Japan, I experienced intense stress, long working hours, and social pressure. I criticized unhealthy workplace cultures and questioned political decisions that seemed unfair.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a better society.

Human knowledge and cooperation have improved countless aspects of life throughout history.

But eventually I realized something important.

There is a difference between improving the world and denying the fundamental conditions under which life exists.

A World That Has Never Been Equal

Modern capitalism is not a perfectly equal system.

Those who own productive assets often have advantages that wage earners do not. Access to information, education, networks, and capital can create opportunities that are difficult for others to reach.

Governments also collect taxes to fund public services, although people often disagree about how effectively those resources are used.

Meanwhile, misinformation spreads quickly, social pressure shapes behavior, and many people still experience discrimination or economic hardship.

Around the world, millions continue to live with poverty, civil conflict, or war.

These realities are uncomfortable.

But they are realities.

Reality Does Not Need Our Permission

The mistake is believing that reality should first satisfy our sense of fairness before we accept it.

Nature has never operated that way.

Life has always contained cooperation and competition, creation and destruction, growth and loss.

Human civilization exists within those same fundamental conditions, even if our technologies make them less visible.

This does not mean injustice should be accepted without question.

It means reality should be understood before it is judged.

Only then can meaningful change become possible.

Are We Different from Nature?

If we believe in cause and effect, it is worth asking ourselves a difficult question.

Human civilization has expanded by consuming enormous amounts of natural resources, domesticating animals, and transforming ecosystems for our own benefit.

Many species have declined or disappeared as a consequence.

This observation is not about assigning guilt.

It is about recognizing that humanity also participates in the same natural system we often judge from above.

Every species survives according to the conditions of life.

Humans are no exception.

Acceptance Is Not Surrender

What if, for a moment, we accepted everything exactly as it is?

Not because everything is morally good.

Not because suffering should be ignored.

Not because injustice deserves approval.

But because resistance to reality often prevents us from seeing it clearly.

Acceptance is not surrender.

It is the starting point of clear perception.

Once we stop arguing with reality itself, we gain the freedom to choose our response wisely.

The world may never become perfect according to our personal ideals.

Yet perhaps it is already complete.

And perhaps true wisdom begins when we stop asking reality to become something else before we are willing to understand it.
